What Our Chiropractors Treat

What You Can Expect

Assessment

A chiropractic assessment is the initial step in understanding a patient’s health condition.

The assessment involves a history, physical examination, referral for diagnostic imaging if indicated, and discussion of goals to fully understand the patient’s health and create a personalized treatment plan.

Treatment

Chiropractic treatment encompasses various techniques with spinal adjustments being a central focus.

Precise spinal manipulations help to restore optimal movement and enhance function. Chiropractors may also use massage, stretching and exercises. Patient education promotes healing and well-being through lifestyle modifications.

Plan

A chiropractic care plan is a personalized roadmap for a patient’s health journey.

Care plans specify visit frequency, track progress, and adapt as necessary. They prioritize preventive measures, fostering overall wellness and spinal health beyond symptom relief, accommodating changing patient needs and goals.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic manipulations, also known as adjustments, are very safe, hands-on procedure performed by chiropractors. By skillfully manipulating the body’s joints and soft tissues, chiropractors aim to alleviate pain and improve joint and muscular function. These adjustments are specifically designed to enhance the mobility of the spine and extremity joints, ensuring optimal movement and function.

Active Release Technique

ART (Active Release Technique) is a unique approach to treating soft tissues. Rather than applying static pressure, ART involves actively moving the affected body parts through a range of motion during treatment. This dynamic element is a key distinction from classical trigger point therapy where compression is primarily used without incorporating active motion. By mimicking the precise motions that trigger the pain, ART offers a highly effective and targeted approach to treatment

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy, also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive medical treatment that utilizes high-energy sound waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It is commonly used in orthopedics, sports medicine, and rehabilitation to treat various musculoskeletal conditions.

During a shockwave therapy session a handheld device delivers controlled acoustic waves to the affected area of the body. These waves create mechanical stress and microtrauma at the cellular level, triggering a cascade of biological responses. This includes increased blood flow, neovascularization (formation of new blood vessels), and the release of growth factors, all of which promote tissue regeneration and healing.

The intensity and frequency of the shockwave pulses can be adjusted based on the specific condition being treated and the individual patient’s needs. The treatment is typically administered in a series of three to four sessions with each session lasting approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Shockwave therapy has been found to be effective in treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including tendinopathies (such as Achilles tendinopathy, tennis elbow, and plantar fasciitis), calcific tendinitis, muscle strains, stress fractures, and myofascial trigger points. It can help reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance tissue healing without the need for surgery or medications.

Graston/Soft tissue Scraping

Soft tissue scraping stimulates blood flow, promotes lymphatic drainage, and alleviates muscle tension. This technique helps reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle tightness.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is often used as a means to create suction on the surface of the body’s tissues. This suction helps to loosen the tissues and enhance blood circulation leading to pain reduction in areas such as the back, neck, and extremities.

Custom Exercise and Rehab Programs

Exercise and rehabilitation plans play a vital role in promoting recovery, enhancing performance, and preventing future injuries. By incorporating targeted exercises and rehabilitation techniques, individuals can restore optimal function and movement patterns. These plans often focus on correcting muscular imbalances, enhancing joint stability, and improving flexibility and mobility. They may include a combination of strength training, flexibility exercises, balance and coordination drills, as well as corrective exercises tailored to the individual’s condition.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized therapy designed to address issues related to the vestibular system, which is responsible for maintaining balance and spatial orientation. It is commonly used to treat individuals with vestibular disorders or conditions that affect their balance, such as vertigo, dizziness, and unsteadiness.

Torque Release

The Torque Release Technique (TRT) is a specialized chiropractic method that focuses on restoring proper nervous system function. TRT utilizes a gentle and precise adjustment approach using an instrument called the Integrator. This technique is offered by Dr. Rick Mozell
